Players develop skills and tactics by consistently learning in both practices and game situations. Practices are an important part of a competitive player’s development. Our teams train 2-3 times per week. Each coach selects his/her training location, but we are primarily located in west Meridian.
Practice schedules are determined by coaches, and the needs of their teams. Times may vary based upon daylight. Occasional additional practices may be called based upon need or time of year. Fall season practices begin in August and coaches will communicate about when those will be.
Idaho Storm teams will automatically qualify to play in the Idaho Premier League under the sanctioning body US Club Soccer. Some teams may qualify and compete in additional competitions to be communicated by the coach of the team. The Idaho Premier League operates with 2 seasons, Fall season (August-October) & Spring Season (April-June) Players that compete with their high school teams will only compete in the Spring Season. We anticipate most games to be played on Saturdays – but occasionally week night games might be played based upon the league schedule.
Team dynamics is extraordinarily important and player continuity can be very impactful to a team’s success. I understand that by accepting a roster spot on this team, I agree to participate in practices, leagues, and tournament play on all days of the week, unless discussed with coaches prior to accepting a spot on the season roster.
Coaches and team member families will decide together on what tournaments, if any, they will attend. Once tournaments are decided, each player is committed and responsible for payment of travel and tournament fees. Tournament fees are separate from tuition fees.
In addition to practices and games we will occasionally hold activities that are designed to foster friendship and camaraderie. When these events are scheduled full support with every player’s participation is requested. These may or may not be soccer related.
Idaho Storm Soccer Club takes pride in providing a lower cost option for players who want to compete in soccer. Our club dues associated with each player are strict because we are required to pay these costs prior to the season. Our Club uses the GotSport system to administer player accounts and billings. Once an offer is accepted in the system, a payment plan can be selected and due dates are provided. Club fees range from $450 – 675 depending on the team and are used to cover fees and expenses such as cost of referee fees, field rental fees, US Club player registration, player cards, and additional soccer gear. These tuition fees do not include uniform, tournament fees, winter turf/facility rental, or travel costs. A player that is behind on account payments will not be able to participate with the team at practices or games until payment is made or a payment plan is worked out with our treasurer. Payment methods accepted by Storm are as follows:
- Venmo: @Storm-Soccer
- Checks: Make payable to Storm and mail to PO Box 6445, Boise, ID 83707
- Credit Cards: GotSport allows for payment via credit card
Player uniform kits consist of game day apparel (jersey, short, sock) and practice apparel (typically training top, warmup jacket, & warmup pant). Uniform kits are required and are paid for separately from Club fees through our designated vendor. Uniform kit cost is roughly $250 and new uniforms are ordered in odd numbered years. Therefore, if joining Storm on an even year (e.g., 2020), the uniform will be used for 1 year and if joining Storm on an odd year (e.g. 2021), the uniform will be used for 2 years.
Numbers will be issued by the club. Requests for numbers will not be taken. Numbers are issued by team and age group. Odd birth years get odd numbers, even gets even. There can be no duplicate numbers in an age group, even if players are on different teams. If a returning player currently has a number that does not conform, they will be issued a new number. All equipment questions can be directed to procurement@idahostormsoccer.com
Players will need order a uniform online through our designated vendor. This needs to be done by Club established deadlines to avoid a rush fee and to guarantee uniforms will be ready in time for season play.
Our club works largely on a volunteer basis. Nearly all positions in the club, including the Board of Directors, are unpaid volunteer roles. This helps us keep tuition costs reasonable for competitive soccer. However, where we are unable to provide qualified coaching for a team on a volunteer basis, any coaching fee will be divided and separately assessed to team members of that team.
Once a player signs the commitment form, he or she is committed to playing soccer for Idaho Storm during the fall and spring seasons of the playing year, unless it is a Spring-only league. Once a guardian and/or parent signs the commitment form you fully understand and accept all responsibility for club dues associated with this commitment, including an immediate $100.00 non-refundable deposit and any remaining balance due. We understand the time commitment required for this and agree to attend all required team activities. We also commit to supporting any required homework and/or assignments that will improve the player’s playing condition and skills.
Once the commitment form is signed and returned to Idaho Storm Soccer Club the parent and/or guardian of the player assumes all responsibility of club dues. If player club dues are not paid by club due dates or payment arrangements have not been made, the player may be suspended from participating in team activities, games and tournaments. All payment arrangements beyond regularly scheduled payments must be approved by the Idaho Storm Soccer Board.
If a player decides to quit or leave Idaho Storm Soccer Club before the season starts or in the middle of a season and said player has already submitted a commitment form, there will be no refunds for club dues responsible by the parent and/or guardian. Players who leave Idaho Storm Soccer Club after submitting a commitment form will not be permitted to play for another Soccer Club associated with that year. Any player interested in a release from the commitment will need to request an appeal to members of the board and explain their request. An appeal does not guarantee a player will be released from the commitment associated with the specified year. If a player is granted a release of commitment, club dues associated with the said commitment form must be paid in full.
In the event of a Health related incident or crisis (e.g., COVID-19 or player injury), the Storm Board will review any refund or withdrawal requests on a case-by-case basis and will factor in guidance from IPL and other regulatory authorities in determining any refunds.
Idaho Storm Soccer Club has a limited number of scholarships available for children whose parents/guardians have difficulty paying for the program/uniform fees. In order for us to determine eligibility and preserve fairness, we need to ask you for some confidential financial information. We assure you that all information you provide will be held in strictest confidence and only be reviewed by the scholarship committee for the purpose of determining eligibility for financial support in payment of registration fees.
